oven, kitchen oven

The oven is one of the most neglected appliances in the kitchen. Roasting and baking your food can cause splatters and spills inside your appliance. When you do not clean these up, these can accumulate and build up gunk in your appliance. Taking care of your oven is easy with a few simple tips. Regular cleaning will require less elbow grease than leaving spills and splatters to turn into stubborn grime and stains.

The best way to care for the most important appliance in your kitchen should be detailed in its owner’s manual. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions on how to clean your oven properly. There are different types and each type would have specific care instructions.

For ordinary ovens, wiping the insides with a cloth and warm soapy water is enough to keep the grime from building up. Some people line the bottom of their ovens with aluminium foil to make clean up easier. After it has cooled down, you simply take the foil out and toss it in the trash bin.

For bad spills, you can use baking soda to soak up the oils and liquids. Wipe it down with a damp cloth. Give the insides of your oven a second wiping with a clean wet cloth. Stubborn stains can be scrubbed off with a scouring pad or brush and an oven cleaning solution. The sooner you clean up your oven of spills, drips, and splatters, the easier it will be for you to clean it.
